Mobile App UX & Design

This is a shopping app concept I designed when I owned and operated a small business, where I bought and sold antique sterling silver in retail and wholesale channels.

Conceptualize an app that allows customers to view and purchase sterling silver flatware with efficiency and convenience.

Streamlined the process of logging in to the app by simplifying the login and account-creation forms as much as possible, providing an easy, accessible entry point for users.

Users need multiple avenues to begin shopping. Some users are looking for a specific piece, and prefer to use a direct text search. Other users search by pattern, or shop Sales; so I displayed the most popular search methods front-and-center on the Home screen, and placed the text search feature permanently in the main menu, to help begin the shopping experience as efficiently as possible.

I also organized the app interface for easy navigation with one hand by placing the main menu and navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen, for easy access with the thumb.

After running an ecommerce store for silver, I've learned the most commonly-asked questions regarding antique silver (length of item, condition, quantity available), and provided those details clearly on each product-detail page.
